Aptly titled 'CONTAINAPHOBIA'.

If you fancy being locked in a small, creepy room where you have to solve puzzles and brainteasers in order to escape then we reckon you’ll fall in love with this brand new escape room in Geelong.

After months in the works (literally since late last year), CONTAINAPHOBIA is the newest and we dare say most exciting horror escape room set to open Monday, November 23.

If you’re new to the escape room trend, the concept is pretty simple: you and your mates enter a room and work together as a team to solve problems, work through puzzles and complete tasks to escape. It’s pretty fun (unless you’re claustrophobic) and it’s pretty cool if you’re looking for something new and exciting to do with your pals, or you’re ready to take your new beau on a unique date.

Housed in an undisclosed location (just for extra creepy points), there’s currently one escape room ready to go – Mahem Manor Escape Room, while the second room – Carnviorous – is set to launch following their opening.

With bookings now open for the first room, Mahem Manor Escape room is a live puzzle which sees two to four participants put their heads together for 60 minutes of hair-raising fun and death-defying horror. The story for this one follows a mysterious text from your best friend.

“It’s been 48 hrs since she left to explore Mayhem Manor in Geelong alone. She just couldn’t resist indulging her passion for the paranormal and with the Manor’s tragic reputation, it was inevitable. Even knowing that no-one enters Mayhem Manor Escape Room Geelong and lives to tell the tale, she had an itch that had to be scratched,” the website description reads.

“The text she sent was bizarre and terrifying escape room Geelong– it made no sense! She begged for help, but then said to stay away! Will you face the danger of the unknown or will you leave your friend to her fate?

“The clock is ticking and you have 60 minutes to save your friend. What will you do?

“Can you escape or will you be trapped forever?”

More than a challenge, this horror escape room questions your sanity as you try to unravel the mystery and face your worst nightmares.

With a ticking clock and a closed door, this is sure to get your heart pumping.

The escape room will be open every day from Monday, November 23 with times available at 9:30am, 12pm, 4:30pm, 7pm and 9:30pm.

You can book via the website.

Please note, participants must be 18 and over.
